Eight Below
Inspired by a true story, Eight Below is an action adventure about loyalty and
the bonds of friendship set in the extreme wilderness of Antarctica. Three
members of a scientific expedition: Jerry Shepard (Paul Walker),
his best friend, Cooper, and a rugged American geologist, who are forced to
leave behind their team of beloved sled dogs due to a sudden accident and
perilous weather conditions in Antarctica. During the harsh, Antarctic winter,
the dogs must struggle for survival alone in the intense frozen wilderness for
over 6 months. A story that will leave you cheering for the under dogs.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by David Auburn, Proof follows a
devoted daughter (Gwyneth Paltrow) who comes to terms with the
death of her father (Anthony Hopkins) a brilliant mathematician
whose genius was crippled by mental insanity, and is forced to face her own
fears and emotions. She adjusts to his death with the help of one of her
father's former mathematical students (Jake Gyllenhaal) who
searches through her father's notebooks in the hope of discovering a bit of his
old brilliance. She must come to terms with the possibility that his genius,
which she has inherited, may come at a painful price. A very compelling and deep
drama.

Park have tapped Rick Rubin as the producer for their third
studio album. Vocalist Mike Shinoda says he'll be on board as a co-producer of
the disc, which they hope to release by the late summer.
XM Satellite Radio is seeing Sirius Satellite's Howard
Stern and raising them one Oprah Winfrey. The Queen of Daytime
has announced that she would be joining the King of All Media's rival radio
network and launching a new XM channel called Oprah & Friends, scheduled to
debut in September.
Kid Rock has unveiled details of his first ever live album, dubbed
Live Trucker. The 13-track set, which captures Rock and his Twisted Brown
Trucker band in all their onstage glory, is set to hit stores on February 28.
NBC managed to acquire superstar sportscaster Al Michaels in a
blockbuster trade from ESPN that will shake up the Monday Night Football
broadcast booth and see Michaels reteamed with John Madden on
Sunday nights.

McAdams walked off the set of a Vanity Fair cover shoot
with Kiera Knightley and Scarlett Johansson rather
than pose in the nude. According to the cover's clothed co-star designer Tom
Ford, the Canadian starlet felt uncomfortable with his request that she appear
in the buff for the cover shot.
Madonna confirmed rumours that she will be hitting the road this summer
in an interview with Ellen Degeneres. However, she was cagier
about her relationship with Guy Ritchie. When asked if the couple had split,
Madge answered, "He's still calling me every five minutes," which seems open to
interpretation to us. However, she also said the couple are never apart for more
than a week at a time.
50 Cent, Jessica Biel and Christina Ricci
will star in Irwin Winkler's Iraqi war drama, Home of the Brave, which has
Samuel L. Jackson set to star. The story follows three soldiers who struggle
to readjust to normal life after returning home from a lengthy tour in Iraq.
Jackson will play a doctor who tries to resume his life but finds himself
struggling to adjust.
Revolution Studios will turn the Cary Grant comedy
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House into a sequel for Are We There Yet?
starring Ice Cube and Nia Long. The movie will be
titled Are We Done Yet?
Conan O'Brien, who endorsed the re-election of Finnish President
Tarja Halonen with mock ad campaigns, says he expects to be rewarded with a
Cabinet position as inspector of saunas.
The rumors continue to fly, that Paul Bettany is being sought for
the role of the Joker in the Batman Begins sequel, as well as
Jake Gyllenhaal's name being tossed around for the role of Harvey
Dent. David S. Goyer has revealed that the next two Batman films will feature
Joker and eventually Two-Face, aka Harvey Dent.
The Wu Tang Clan are hitting the road for the first time since the death
of founding member Ol' Dirty Bastard in November, 2004. The brief
tour kicks off in Philadelphia tonight and winds up in Florida on the 19th. A
portion of ticket sales will go to support the family of O.D.B.
Bono says Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
deserve to be taken more seriously for their activist work. The U2
frontman told reporters this week that he has worked closely with Jolie in her
role as a UN goodwill ambassador and says that the couple are "really serious
people."
Jennifer Beals will star in The Grudge 2. Amber Tamblyn
is already attached to star as Sarah Michelle Gellar's
little sister in the sequel. Gellar will make a cameo in order to pass the curse
from the first film on to a new group of characters.
Resident Evil: Extinction will begin shooting in 2006, with Milla
Jovovich attached to reprise her role from the first two films. The third
movie in the franchise based on the bestselling video game was previously titled
Afterlife.
Nia Vardalos has an idea for a potential sequel to My Big Fat
Greek Wedding. The announcement comes after Universal Pictures has
setup Vardalos to pen a screenplay for Tom Hanks to star in titled
Talk of the Town. Hanks and wife Rita Wilson produced the
big-screen version of Greek Wedding. |
