Hoodwinked
An updated re-telling of the classic fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. The satire begins where the fable last left off, as there's always more to every tale than meets the eye. Furry and feathered cops from the animal world, Chief Grizzly and Detective Bill Stork, investigate a domestic disturbance at Granny's cottage, involving a girl, a wolf and an axe. The charges are many: breaking and entering, disturbing the peace, intent to eat, and wielding an axe without a license. Not to mention, this case might be tied to the elusive "Goody Bandit" who has been stealing the recipes of goody shops everywhere. Clever satire abounds in this Shrek inspired parody.

Red Eye

Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) hates to fly, but the terror that awaits her on the night flight to Miami has nothing to do with a fear of flying. Upon boarding the plane, Lisa is pleasantly surprised to find that she is seated next to Jackson (Cillian Murphy), the seemingly charming man with whom she had shared a drink in the airport terminal. But moments after takeoff, Jackson drops his facade and menacingly reveals the real reason he's on board: he is an operative in a plot to kill the Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, and Lisa is the key to its success. If she refuses to cooperate, her own father will be killed by an assassin awaiting a call from Jackson. Trapped within the confines of a jet at 30,000 feet, Lisa has nowhere to run and no way to summon help without endangering her father, her fellow passengers and her own life. Red Eye takes the viewer on one wild ride.

The Buzz..

The second-season premiere of ABC's Dancing With The Stars, averaged 17.5 million viewers. That's nearly triple the audience of previous time slot occupants Alias and Night Stalker. It's also an upgrade over Dancing's inaugural episode last summer.

The new Red Hot Chili Peppers album, Stadium Arcadium, will be a double-disc package. No release date has been announced yet for the follow-up to 2002's By the Way, but the group is working on a tour itinerary. Singer Anthony Keidis says the CD is "heavy, but it's emotionally heavy with lots of beautiful melodies."

Pearl Jam have won a ruling against a webmaster who was controlling a domain called PearlJams-dot-com. The National Arbitration Forum decided in favor of the group last week, saying that the site caused confusion with the band and its name, which is a registered trademark. The site's owner used it to advertise other sites, ranging from online boards about Eddie Vedder to sites selling freshwater pearls.

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins is following in Dave Grohl's footsteps. Just as Dave stepped out from behind Nirvana's drums to form the Foos, Hawkins has formed his own side project, the aptly-named Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders.

Black eyed peas Rev Up

The hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas will headline the sixth annual Honda Civic Tour and help the automaker promote its new gas-electric hybrid model by giving away a customized car, which the group will help design.

Lou Reed, Avril Lavigne and Ricky Martin, among others, have all been tapped to perform concerts after the awards ceremonies each night at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino. The Games begin February 10.

Expectations are high for Justin Timberlake’s follow up LP to Justified, which is why he's enlisted heavy hitters like Will.I.Am of Black Eyed Peas, Timbaland, and Rick Rubin.

Tim Allen and John Travolta are in negotiations to star in Wild Hogs, a comedy for Touchstone Pictures. The script revolves around a group of four frustrated middle-aged biker wannabes who hit the open road in search of adventure only to encounter a real Hell's Angels group.

Felicity Huffman earned Screen Actors Guild nominations for her role on Desperate Housewives and her big-screen turn as a man about to complete the journey to becoming a woman in Transamerica. Her overall three nods were more than any other star.

A movie theater owned by Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller abruptly changed its screening plans and decided not to show the film Brokeback Mountain. The film was supposed to open Friday at the Megaplex at Jordan Commons in Sandy, a suburb of Salt Lake City. Instead it was pulled from the schedule.

Singer Pink and motocross racer Carey Hart tied the knot in Costa Rica.

Capote, the screen biography of writer Truman Capote, was named 2005's best film by the National Society of Film Critics, and Philip Seymour Hoffman won best actor in the film's title role.

The Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang tour exploded in 2005, and could end up as the top-grossing tour ever, pending an epic box office battle with U2's Vertigo tour.

Eager U.S. readers snapped up more copies of Harry Potter's latest adventure on the first day it was out than any other book sold in the country in all of 2005, according to sales figures released on Friday.

Husband and wife country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are putting the finishing touches on a reprise of their Soul II Soul tour.

Disturbed's latest album, Ten Thousand Fists, has been certified platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of one million copies. The CD, which was released in September via Reprise, has shifted 845,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

After a summer tour, likely to launch in June, Def Leppard plan to get to work on a new studio album, due in 2007.
