Despicable Me
In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white
picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black
house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors,
hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout.
Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru (Steve
Carell) planning the biggest heist in the history
of the world. He is going to steal the moon, yes, the
moon. Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his
arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready
vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand
in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will
of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see
something that no one else has ever seen: a potential
Dad. The world's greatest villain has just met his
greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo,
Edith and Agnes.

A Single Man
In Los Angeles 1962, at the height of the Cuban missile crisis George Falconer (Colin
Firth), a 52 year old British college professor is struggling to find
meaning to his life after the death of his long time partner, Jim. George dwells
on the past and cannot see his future as we follow him through a single day,
where a series of events and encounters, ultimately lead him to decide if there
is a meaning to life after Jim. George is consoled by his closest friend Charley
(Julianne Moore), a 48 year old beauty who is wrestling with her
own questions about the future. A young student of George's, Kenny, who is
coming to terms with his true nature, stalks George as he feels in him a kindred
spirit. A romantic tale of love interrupted the isolation that is an inherent
part of the human condition and ultimately the importance of the seemingly
smaller moments in life.
