On TV

Playing for Keeps
A charming, down on his luck former soccer star (Gerard Butler) returns home to put his life back together. Looking for a way to rebuild his relationship with his son, he gets roped into coaching the boy's soccer team. But his attempts to finally become an "adult" are met with hilarious challenges from the attractive "soccer moms" (Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta Jones) who pursue him at every turn.

On DVD

The Dark Knight Rises
Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway star in the epic conclusion to director Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight Trilogy.' It's been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning from hero to fugitive for the greater good of Gotham City. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda, and the dangerous emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce Wayne out of his self imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

On Tour

Styx
For fans of classic rock that grew up in the ‘70s & ‘80s, a Styx show is a walk down the memory lane of life. The band, who formed in a Chicago basement in the early 70’s have made some of the most memorable and beloved songs of a generation. Styx is first band in history to release four consecutive triple platinum albums, which is no surprise as the band could not miss in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s with albums like The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, Cornerstone and Paradise Theater spawning mega hits like, Blue Collar Man, Renegade, Come Sail Away and Too Much Time On My Hands to name a few. Styx is a proven great live band, continuing to tour to the delight of millions of fans worldwide.

The Buzz...

John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John have unveiled the music video for their new single I Think You Might Like It. The Grease stars recently confirmed that they were reuniting after nearly 35 years for a new Christmas album, and have now released the promo for their track.

Disney has closed a deal for an untitled pitch to be written by Steve Pink and Jeff Morris, and produced by Infinitum Nihil’s Johnny Depp and Christi Dembrowski. The project is best described as a modern re-imagining of Don Quixote. Depp has long been intrigued with that character, and at one time was attached to the Quixote film that Terry Gilliam has tried to make.

Reese Witherspoon may be a proper Southern lady, but Mindy Kaling would love to see her get her crazy on. While Kaling won't say if her lunch date with Witherspoon the other day was a business meeting, she does tell me that the Oscar winner is her dream guest for her new Fox comedy, The Mindy Project. "Because she's so sweet and so articulate and well raised, to me it would be really fun to have her play somebody out of control," Kaling said.

Not content to rule the skies and rack up record sales, Rihanna has now set her sights on primetime domination, too. The multi platinum artist is teaming with Style Network to executive produce and star in Styled to Rock, a new fashion based reality series in which 12 up and coming designers will compete for a chance to dress some of the entertainment industry's best and brightest.

Psy's nonsensical (and undeniably catchy) single, Gangnam Style, has no doubt brought the South Korean singer international fame, but just how much money is it making him? The short answer is, a lot. More specifically, the Associated Press has determined that the combination of his record setting YouTube views, iTunes downloads and television commercials will dump at least $7.9 million in his bank account.

When X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer announced that X-Men vets Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are officially coming back for the upcoming film, it apparently came as news to Stewart. "Bryan let the cat out of the bag on Twitter, and it included announcing that Sir Ian and myself were going to be in this movie," he says, adding, "I know nothing about this project. And I'm hoping that might change in the future." Stewart, who played Professor Xavier in the first three X-Men films (two of which Singer directed), explained that he is most definitely interested.

Brooklyn Decker will guest star in an upcoming episode of New Girl. The supermodel actress will play Holly, a patron at Nick’s bar who is specifically attracted to the brokenhearted. The three roommates compete for her by playing up their love wounds.

Metallica have begun a new chapter of their career with very own their declaration of independence. The band now owns their catalog of master recordings and has launched their own record label, Blackened Recordings. On Friday their camp sent over these details: Metallica announced today that they have taken ownership of all their master recordings including all music and long form videos, a move almost unprecedented for musicians signed to recording contracts.

Barbara Walters has strange tastes for an 83 year old journalist. Among the people she finds most fascinating in 2012 are Honey Boo Boo and One Direction's topless fans. Walters, who interviewed One Direction for her annual 10 Most Fascinating People special tells In Touch of the boys, "They are the most popular boy band in the world."
