Hidden Figures
The inspirational true story of the first female African American mathematician, Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), and her two colleagues, Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe), whose groundbreaking calculations helped NASA catch up in the "Space Race" with the Soviet Union and allowed John Glenn (Glen Powell) to become the first American astronaut to successfully make a complete orbit of the Earth. In addition to helping launch John into orbit, the brilliant women crossed gender and race lines, defied expectations and battled stereotypes. In the process, they inspired generations of people to aim high and dream big.

Snowden
This politically charged drama reveals the story of American Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), the former CIA employee and NSA contractor who leaked thousands of classified documents to the press. What he revealed was that the U.S. government had been spying on its citizens to a greater extent than most people knew, including taping into their cell phones. After deciding to expose the surveillance activities, Edward fled the country to seek asylum elsewhere, leaving his longtime girlfriend Lindsay Mills (Shailene Woodley) behind. His actions cost him his American passport and he had to go hide in Russia. Edward's scandal rocked the world and shocked Americans. He became the most wanted man in the world, considered a hero by some, and a traitor by others.

Ava Phillippe may have two famous parents, but she’s becoming a star in her own right thanks to social media. Speaking with People, proud dad Ryan opens up about how he handles his daughter’s Instagram fame and how he feels about her having 228,000 followers. “Well, she has an incredibly famous mother and a moderately famous father, but that’s how that works,” he says. “And also social media is largely driven by the youth and the associations made within that group. She’s incredibly talented.”

Lindsay Lohan wants a Mean Girls sequel to happen just as much as we all do. “I have been trying so hard to do a ‘Mean Girls 2.’ It is not in my hands,” she said in a Facebook Live chat with CNN this week. “I know Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels and all of Paramount are very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it.”

Serena Williams scored herself a fiancé, the heavily decorated tennis champion announced Thursday. The Olympian has been dating Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian for over a year, and upgraded her marital status during a recent trip to Rome. “I came home a little late, someone had a bag packed for me and a carriage awaited. Destination: Rome,” Williams said in a post to, of course, Reddit’s dedicated forum for engagement stories.

Joely Fisher is "inconsolable" after the death of Debbie Reynolds. The 49 year old actress took to Twitter with a heartbreaking reaction to the sudden passing of the Hollywood legend, who was the mother of her late half-sister, Carrie Fisher.

Sia has filed for divorce from hubby Erik Lang, and so will end a very short marriage. The singer filed docs in L.A. citing irreconcilable differences. The two announced they were headed for splitsville earlier this month.

Don’t give up hope yet, Girl Meets World fans: A Season 4 renewal may still be in the cards. Rider Strong, who reprised his Boy Meets World role of Shawn Hunter on the Disney Channel spinoff, revealed on a podcast this week that the show would wrap up with Season 3. But the official Twitter feed for the show’s writers’ room clarified on Tuesday that nothing’s been decided yet.
