At The Movies
Dune: Part Two
Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) unites with Chani (Zendaya)
and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who
destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate
of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can
foresee. Unlike the Part One's focus on lore, this movie is more devotion
driven, also resembling a political narrative, especially knowing of the hidden
puppeteers behind the empire. The result appears to be an intricate web of
schemes involving the empire, the witch advisor women, and the Baron's family.
The visual brilliance, as expected was stunning, elevating every aspect. The
authenticity of the scenes made it feel as if characters were immersed in the
environment, rather than merely placed against a green screen.

Resident Alien (Netflix)
An alien, who has crash landed on earth on a mission to
destroy humanity, assumes the identity of Dr. Harry
Vanderspeigel, so he can remain undetected by the
residents of Patience, CO while he searches the snow
covered Colorado Mountains for pieces of his ship. He
learns "to be human" by watching Law and Order and
mimicking the late, great Jerry Orbach. One day the
sheriff of Patience, Mike "Big Black" Thompson and his
deputy, Liv Baker, show up at his isolated cabin. There
has been a murder in town and they need a doctor. The
murder victim is the town doctor. Soon, he finds himself
as the new town doctor and in constant contact with the
people of the town. Something, until now, he has
vehemently avoided. Now, as he is spending more time
with humans, he is learning more about them and what
makes them human. Which gives him pause, but is still
determined to complete his mission to destroy the people
of earth. He also discovers there is one person in town
who can see him in his true form; which, of course, is
less than ideal. Resident Alien featuring Alan
Tudyk and Sara Tomko is streaming with
subscription on Netflix.
The Buzz...
Miley Cyrus landed her latest film role as a plaster caster of
men’s privates as she “loves” phalluses. The Wrecking Ball singer,

Dolls alongside Margaret Qualley, Geraldine
Viswanathan, Colman Domingo and Pedro Pascal.

Plaster Caster.
After nearly losing her home, Sopranos star Drea de
Matteo says her OnlyFans site helped her pay off her mortgage in
“five minutes.” De Matteo, 52, told the Daily Mail this week she
was down to her last $10 and was close to losing her home before she made the
decision to join the adults only subscription site last year. The actress, who
lost work over her refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine, said she didn’t want to
join the site but added that she was out of options after the bank threatened to
take her home.
Hilary Duff has won a $1.25 million lawsuit against a female
hygiene company. In her lawsuit, the Lizzy McGuire actress claimed
the company had used an “unforeseeable circumstances” clause in her contract to
avoid paying her due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thor was almost even bigger, from a muscle mass perspective, at least.
Reacher star Alan Ritchson told Men’s Health that he
was the frontrunner for the MCU role back in 2011, until he mailed in the
audition.
Eugene Levy is the newest castmember to join Only Murders in
the Building season four. The Emmy winning actor will have a recurring role
in the series’ upcoming season, marking his first regular television role since
Schitt’s Creek ended. While details of Levy’s character are being kept
under wraps, he will become integral to the twists and turns of this season’s
investigation.
ABC has made it a priority this season to turn sophomore series Will
Trent into an established hit, and so far the strategy seems to be
working. The drama’s Season 2 premiere already posted one of the Alphabet net’s
most watched scripted drama episodes among live+same day total viewers in years,
at 4.77 million.
