Ferrari
Set in the summer of 1957, with Enzo Ferrari's auto empire in
crisis, the ex-racer turned entrepreneur pushes himself and his drivers to the
edge as they launch into the Mille Miglia, a treacherous 1,000
mile race across Italy. Christian Bale was cast in the lead role
in late 2015, prompting a reunion with director Michael Mann after
Public Enemies (2009), but dropped out because he didn't have
enough time to gain the necessary weight for the role. Hugh Jackman
was the first actor to replace Bale, until Adam Driver took over
the role in January 2022.

Leave The World Behind (Netflix)
A family's getaway to a luxurious rental home takes an
ominous turn when a cyberattack knocks out their
devices, and two strangers appear at their door. Amanda
and Clay's aspirational vacation with their teenage
children is interrupted by the arrival of a middle aged
man and his daughter who own the holiday home and who
have fled an unprecedented blackout in the city. When
the internet, television and radio stop working, as does
the landline, they have no way of finding out what is
happening. As strange sonic booms shatter the peace of
the countryside, and animals start to migrate in strange
ways, the physical and mental health of the families
begins to disintegrate. The renters are upscale and
White; the owners are upscale and Black. The issues of
race clash and become distractions to the more alarming
things that are happening all around them. Leave the
World Behind featuring Julia Roberts and
Mahershala Ali is streaming with
subscription on Netflix.

Slow Horses (AppleTV+)
Follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve
as a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their
career ending mistakes. Slough House is a dumping ground
for members of the intelligence service who've screwed
up: left a service file on a train, blown a
surveillance, or become drunkenly unreliable. They're
the service's poor relations. The slow horses and most
bitter among them is River Cartwright, whose days are
spent transcribing mobile-phone conversations. But when
a young man is abducted, and his kidnappers threaten to
behead him live on the Internet, River sees an
opportunity to redeem himself. But is the victim who he
first appears to be? And what's the kidnappers'
connection with a disgraced journalist? As the clock
ticks on the execution, River finds that everyone
involved has their own agenda. Slow Horses featuring
