Spaceman (Netflix)
An intergalactic odyssey of love, ambition, and
self-discovery. Orphaned as a boy, raised in the Czech
countryside by his doting grandparents, Jakub Procházka
has risen from small-time scientist to become the
country's first astronaut. When a dangerous solo mission
to Jupiter offers him both the chance at heroism he's
dreamt of and a way to atone for his father's sins as a
Communist informer, he ventures boldly into the vast
unknown. But in so doing, he leaves behind his devoted
wife, Lenka, whose love, he realizes too late, he has
sacrificed on the altar of his ambitions. Alone in Deep
Space, Jakub discovers a possibly imaginary giant alien
spider, who becomes his unlikely companion. Over
philosophical conversations about the nature of love,
life and death, and the deliciousness of hazelnut
spread, the pair form an intense and emotional bond.
Spaceman featuring Adam Sandler and
Paul Dano is streaming with subscription on

Elsbeth (Paramount+)
Elsbeth Tascioni, an unconventional attorney, gives her
singular point of view to make observations to catch
criminals alongside the NYPD. For those who are not
acquainted with her, it is a come-back indeed, as she is
(to my knowledge) the only secondary character who has
outlived not just one show (as Saul, of Better
Call Saul), but two different long and
successful series (The Good Wife
and The Good Fight) and who has won
people's heart to the extent of deservingly having her
own show now. Elsbeth featuring Carrie Preston
and Carra Patterson has one or more
episodesis streaming on Paramount+.
The Buzz...
Wolfgang Van Halen is firing back at David Lee
Roth after the Van Halen frontman blasted him in a viral
rant earlier this year. “I guess I’m honoured (Roth) even thinks about me as
much as he seems to,” Wolfgang, 32, said this week during an interview with
Atlanta radio show The Morning X. “I seem to have been born into this Van
Halen drama that has come way before me,” he continued. “And now that my dad
isn’t here to be a target, I guess he went to the next best thing.”
Vanessa Hudgens is pregnant. The 35 year old actress debuted her
growing baby bump on the red carpet before the Oscars ceremony at the
Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Vanessa, who is married to sports star
Cole Tucker, proudly showed off her bump while wearing a
floor-length black gown to the awards ceremony.
For weeks after the Oscar nominations were announced, Barbie star
Ryan Gosling publicly maintained he wasn’t sure if he’d perform “I’m
Just Ken” during the 96th Academy Awards. However, Barbie co-star
and producer Margot Robbie says he never hesitated to agree to the
performance. In fact, she says she didn’t have to pressure him “at all.”
The stars are out in full force for the Oscars, and while everyone is
curious to see what they’re wearing, many of the stars have an accessory in
common with a meaningful red pin. For those wondering what it represents, it is
a way for the attendees to show support for a ceasefire in Gaza as bombings
continue.
Now that True Detective is renewed for a fifth season and Night
Country creator Issa López is returning to oversee it, many
fans are wondering if the HBO series will continue to go the anthology
route or possibly feature the return of Night Country characters played by
Jodi Foster and Kali Reis. Foster weighed in on a
possible return while speaking to Variety On the Carpet presented by
Directv at the 2024 Oscars. Foster is a supporting actress nominee for
Nyad.
American TV viewers haven’t seen Sharon Osbourne much since her
contentious exit from The Talk in 2021, and now the former talk
show cohost claims she’s persona non grata in the United States. “I got banned
in America,” Osbourne told Celebrity Big Brother housemates
Lauren Simon and Louis Walsh.
Jane Seymour is speaking out against ageism and the idea that
women have a “sell-by date.” The 73 year old actress is fighting back against
the social phenomenon that is “unseenism,” which describes the notion that women
get devalued as they age in society.
The Super Marios Bros Movie will return with
a sequel, Nintendo announced on Sunday. The film, set for release on
April 3, 2026, will come almost exactly three years after the release of the
original movie.
It’s been nearly three months since an animated wide release hit theaters, the
last being Illumination’s Migration over the holidays. That’s a
little bit frightening, but with some expert timing Kung Fu
Panda 4 has arrived, benefitting from a lack of competition for family
audiences to score some strong numbers in its debut.
Michael Keaton revealed he saw a cut of the Beetlejuice
sequel, adding that he can “confidently say this thing is great.” The actor
reprised his role as Beetlejuice for the upcoming movie, nearly four decades
after playing the character in the 1988 Tim Burton directed movie. Burton
also returned to direct Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
As filming begins on its fourth season, Only Murders in the Building
has added yet another comedy ringer to its cast. Zach Galifianakis
is the latest comedy star to become entangled in the hit Hulu comedy's
web of mystery.
