The Garfield Movie
After Garfield's unexpected reunion with his long lost father, ragged alley cat
Vic, he and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered
lives to join Vic on a risky heist. Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt),
the world famous, Monday hating, lasagna loving indoor cat, is about to have a
wild outdoor adventure. After an unexpected reunion with his long lost father -
scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson)
Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered
life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high stakes heist. The jokes are fun, the
animation is fine and Garfield and Odie get the laughs on their hands very
often.

The Buzz...
A new documentary about the Beach Boys that features unseen
footage and new interviews with the band is arriving on Disney+ this
week. In the documentary, Mike Love says that competition in the music
business was just as fierce when he was starting out as it is today. The Beach
Boys and Beatles both duked it out with one another for chart supremacy, but
rivalry made them both better bands.
There’s no better way to get ready for a major championship event than relaxing
in the sun wearing a pink bikini. Paulina Gretzky did just that
recently, sharing a snapshot of herself in a pink bikini on a boat with her
husband, golfer Dustin Johnson, ahead of this week’s PGA
Championship. “Package deal,” the Great One’s daughter captioned the series
of photos, which showed her wearing the two piece swimwear as she soaked up the
sun with her husband and friends.
Golf fans (and Adam Sandler fans) rejoice, it’s now official:
Netflix has green lit a sequel to Happy Gilmore. No plot
details have been released, but Sandler will reprise his role as hockey player
turned golf star and Christopher McDonald apparently will return
as Shooter McGavin.
Dabney Coleman, the popular comic actor from 9 to 5, Tootsie
and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman whose many redeeming
qualities including a knack for portraying characters who had none, has died. He
was 92.
Daisy Ridley trades in her Star Wars lightsaber for
a pair of goggles in new film Young Woman and the
Sea, telling the real-life story of the first woman to successfully swim the
English Channel.
Yorgos Lanthimos can’t stop (won’t stop!) working with Oscar
winner Emma Stone, casting the actress once again as leading lady
for his next project Bugonia. The drama will also star Jesse
Plemons who, along with Stone, appears in Lanthimos’ forthcoming Kinds
of Kindness. That three-chapter feature just premi on Friday at this
year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Spanish animation is experiencing a historic boom. Shorts and features from the

productions coming from Hollywood today.

series examining the “existential threats” facing neighborhoods across America.

Valerie Bertinelli is signing off of social media, at least for a
little while. The One Day at a Time and Daytime Emmy

to take a break from the internet last week.
