At The Movies
The Wild Robot
After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose. According to author Peter Brown, the inspiration for The Wild Robot came from a sketch he did of a robot in a tree. He then asked the question "What would an intelligent robot do in the wilderness?" This is definitely director Chris Sanders' (of Lilo & Stitch and How To Train Your Dragon fame) magnum opus. A beautifully gorgeous combination of Wall-E and The Iron Giant that serves to prove that DreamWorks can still occasionally put out a quality product.

Civil War
(MAX)
A journey across a dystopian future America, following a team of military embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend upon the White House. A truly immersive experience into what a civil war in an America could "feel" like. The story is simple but profound, using the 3rd eye or journalism, doing its best to tell an unbiased perspective of the what the world looks like at its most biased. Kirsten Dunst leads the cast.

Uglies (Netflix)
In a future post scarcity dystopian world in which everyone is considered an "ugly," but then turned "Pretty" by extreme cosmetic surgery when they reach the age of 16. It tells the story of teenager Tally Youngblood (Joey King) who rebels against society's enforced conformity. Based on the Scott Westerfeld series that spanned four books and a spin-off series. It's a good watch with an interesting theme running through which makes you think not everything is meant to be perfect. This film challenges us to think about how people are perceived based on looks and not on what they are truly like.
