The Amateur
When his supervisors at the CIA refuse to take action after his wife is killed
in a London terrorist attack, a decoder (Rami Malek) takes matters
into his own hands. Falling somewhere between Jason, Bourne and James Bond, with
a dash of the tech guy from Mission impossible, Remi Malik's The Amateur is a
wonderfully entertaining and intelligent thriller, with extraordinarily strong
supporting acts from just about everybody else involved, including an excellent
Lawrence Fishburne, really on form here in a part which gives him
real substance for once.

Holland (Prime Video)
A woman's (Nicole Kidman) picture perfect
life in quaint Holland, Michigan crumbles, when she and
a friend uncover a twisted secret in their midst.
Director Cave does a good job introducing us to what
appears to be a relatively happy family living mundane
lives, but deliberately peeling back the onion to reveal
the horror within. Holland, is the definition of a
surreal, psychedelic ride through mystery and
bizarreness.

Ludwig (britbox)
While seeking to unravel the mystery of his twin
brother's disappearance, reclusive puzzle designer John
'Ludwig' Taylor takes on his twin brother James's
identity as DCI on Cambridge's major crimes squad.
Ludwig is an absolute gem that masterfully combines the
intrigue of a classic whodunit with the charm of a
comedy. David Mitchell shines as the loveable amateur
sleuth, bringing his unique wit and charisma to the
role. The series is a refreshing take on the murder
mystery genre, reminiscent of shows like Jonathan
Creek. The writing is sharp and clever, keeping
viewers engaged with its intricate plots and humorous
dialogue. Each episode is a delightful puzzle, with
twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very
end.
