At The Movies

The Sentinel
Pete Garrison (Michael Douglas) is the most decorated agent in the history of the Secret Service, the president's last line of defense. But now, wrongly suspected of targeting the president for assassination, Garrison has become the Service's worst nightmare. As he uses his formidable skills to try and prove his innocence and find the real assassin, Garrison is tracked by his equally adept former protégé (Kiefer Sutherland). An intense action thriller.

On DVD
Mrs. Henderson Presents

Mrs. Laura Henderson (Judi Dench) may be a widow but she is by no means going to spend the rest her days playing bridge. The Windmill Theater becomes her game and the infamous showman Vivian Van Dam (Bob Hoskins) becomes her partner and fiercest opponent. The Germans are bombing London but the roar of the Windmill is all that can be heard, as Laura convinces Lord Cromer (Christopher Guest) to allow her actresses to be the one thing no one could ever imagine: Nude. Brought to its knees by war, what Mrs. Henderson Presents brings a nation to its feet in applause.

The Buzz..

Lindsay Lohan has been dropped by French fashion house Louis Vuitton. The teen pop star was to star in their latest campaign, but execs at Vuitton thought Lindsay was "too American for their global brand." Fiery supermodel Naomi Campbell will star in the campaign instead.

HawthorneHeights and Story of the Year will team up for a Canadian tour this summer. The trek, which hasn't been fully booked yet, will kick off in Quebec City on July 13th and finish up in Vancouver on July 25th.

Will Smith will join 20th Century Fox's Greenbacks. The action thriller set in Morocco tells of an American ex-patriot who comes across an underground plot to produce counterfeit money to destabilize the world's economy.

Peter Segal (The Longest Yard) will direct Shazam!, an adaptation of a DC Comics' comic book series featuring Captain Marvel. The comic series focused on young Billy Batson, who becomes the superhero known as Captain Marvel when he utters the magic word Shazam!

Online gambling site Bodog.com has suspended betting on who's going to be hoisting that million dollar check when CBS's Survivor wraps up for the season. First, a string of $100 bets (Bodog's max) for one contestant caught bookmakers' attention. Then a phone call from a "concerned citizen" mentioning a possible chink in the confidentiality chain prompted the odds making moratorium.

Alicia Keys will join Scarlett Johansson in The Nanny Diaries. Based on the hit novel by Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin, the movie tells of a young New Jersey woman who takes on a job as a nanny to a wealthy Upper East Side family in New York City. It is there that she witnesses all the scandal, lies, and deception of the affluent family.
