Cage), two Port Authority police officers who rushed into the burning
World Trade Center on 9/11 to help rescue people, but became trapped themselves
when the tower collapsed. A race against time ensued to free them before their
air ran out. A powerful, moving film.

Lindsay
Lohan has reportedly been dropped by her British label, Island
Records. The label bosses apparently got tired of what they deemed her lazy
attitude and indifference. It seems Lindsay didn't bother going over to the UK
in order to promote her latest album Speak.
Helena Bonham Carter has joined the all-star cast of
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Bonham Carter will play Bellatrix
Lestrange, Sirius Black's cousin and a Death Eater, who is one of Lord
Voldemort's followers.
20th Century Fox has slated Live Free or Die Hard for June 29, 2007,
putting it up against Disney's Ratatouille and Dreamworks The
Transformers for the July 4th weekend.
Rap icon Tupac Shakur's legacy will be the subject of an
educational study. On the 10th anniversary of his death, two prestigious UK film
institutions are hosting a 13-day conference on Shakur. The event will focus on
Tupac's film work, but will also examine his impact on rap, and popular culture.

The
Pussycat Dolls are on the prowl for a seventh member. She'll join the
burlesque pride after winning an eight-episode reality show called The Search
for the Next Pussycat Doll. Dolls creator and founder Robin Antin
will pick the lucky cat.
For the past year, Britney Spears has been saying that she needs
to start her own magazine to combat tabloid rumours. Well it seems her hubby,
Kevin Federline, is singing the same tune. K-Fed is thinking about
starting a magazine called The Real.
Michael Egan, a music video director, will direct a feature film
based on the life of INXS' Michael Hutchence.
Warner Bros. has announced that Heath Ledger as officially been
cast as The Joker in The Dark Knight, the sequel to last year's
Batman Begins.
Google has enlisted Viacom's MTV Networks in an ambitious
expansion of the Internet giant's advertising network and video portal.
My Chemical Romance are set to release their third album on
October 24th. In a statement, bassist Mikey Way said "We want this
to be the album that My Chemical Romance is remembered for." The as-yet untitled
disc was produced by Green Day producer Rob Cavallo.
The Wachowski Brothers (The Matrix trilogy) are working on a
live-action adaptation of the classic cartoon series Speed Racer
for Warner Bros. Pictures.
A Beyonce Knowles music video was said to be the cause of
epileptic seizures among several British viewers. The video for Beyonce's song
Check On It features a series of flashing images. Flashing images have been
known to occasionally cause seizures in people who suffer from epilepsy.
Big news for Canadian Kanye West fans. The rapper is heading to
Halifax this Fall. The Louis Vuitton Don has been tapped to be one of the
opening acts for the Rolling Stones. Kanye will play three dates on their
North American, A Bigger Bang Tour, which includes the Halifax stop on September
23rd.
Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Junior has announced plans to release a
solo album. The 10-song disc, titled Yours to Keep, is scheduled for an October
9th release. It will feature guest appearances by Sean Lennon, Ben Kweller and
Fountains of Wayne guitarist Jody Porter.
Wolfmother has put together another North American tour that will begin
on September 9 in Brooklyn, New York and finish up on September 30 at the
Download Festival in San Francisco. The trek will also encompass both versions
of the Virgin Festival in Canada and the U.S.
Indie darlings Death From Above 1979 are no more. After months of
speculation, the rock band has officially called it quits. In a letter posted on
their website, Jesse F. Keeler confirmed the split.
About 200 Kiss fans protested Saturday in front of the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame and Museum to demand that the band be inducted into the hall. |
