Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) discovers he owes a blood
debt to the legendary Davey Jones, Captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. With
time running out, Jack must find a way out of his debt or else be doomed to
eternal damnation and servitude in the afterlife. Making matters worse,
Sparrow's problems manage to interefere with the wedding plans of a certain Will
Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira
Knightley), who are forced to join Jack on yet another one of his
misadventures.

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, Cheap Trick
star Rick Nielsen and members of the E Street Band have
formed a supergroup with country maverick Hank Williams Jr.
to pay tribute to American football. The unnamed group has recorded several
versions of Williams' All My Rowdy Friends Are Here On Monday Night, which will
be used as the theme to cable sports channel ESPN's Monday
Night Football coverage later this year.

A release date of August 29th has been set for Jessica Simpson's A Public

lines. She added that J.Lo and Beyonce are fashion icons and have a
responsibility to think about animal cruelty, as their young fans might not be
aware of how fur is harvested.
Gnarls Barkley are among the acts set to take part in a massive
UK-style music fest set for Toronto this fall. Richard Branson
will be bringing the Virgin Fest to Toronto's Olympic Island on

20th Century Fox and producer John Davis has purchased the
rights to the young adult fantasy series Uglies. The studio hopes to turn
the Scott Westerfeld novel will be turned into a feature film franchise in the
form of a trilogy. The movie would be set in the future and tells of a society
where kids are deemed Uglies until the age of 16, when they are surgically
transformed into Pretties and then moved to a glamorous part of town. The story
centers around a group of teens who rebel against the operation.
20th Century Fox teased European exhibitors at the Cine
Expo in Amsterdam with an announcement that the Wolverine spin-off could
start as early as next year. Hugh Jackman himself made his pitch
for the X-Men spinoff in a video from Australia during the Gold Reel Awards
luncheon.
Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have
purchased J. Michael Straczynski's thriller The Changeling for
Ron Howard to potentially direct. His Imagine partner, Brian
Grazer, would produce the feature. Based on actual events, the movie
tells of a mother who wishes for the return of her kidnapped son. Her prayers
are answered when she believes they've found him, but has suspicions that the
boy who comes back isn't really hers. |
