X-Men: The Last Stand
With the help of new recruits The Beast and Angel, they must face evolution itself in the form of their former teammate, Jean Grey. Possessed with the cosmic power of the Dark Phoenix, the resurrected Jean Grey has become a danger to herself, her mutant comrades, and the entire planet. To stave off this imminent threat to humanity, a potential cure is discovered and processed to treat, and ultimately eliminate genetic mutations once and for all. Now, as the battle lines are drawn, the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, must contend with both Jean Grey's world consuming powers, as well as the malevolent Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto. Best of the series.

Tom Baker (Steve Martin) and wife Kate (Bonnie Hunt), hoping to bring their family together for a memorable summer vacation, take their 12 offspring to the rustic Lake Winnetka. But their retreat soon becomes cutthroat when they enter into a competition with the over achieving members of a large family headed by Tom's long time rival, Jimmy Murtaugh (Eugene Levy). Good family fun.

The Buzz..

Stacy Keibler, who wowed viewers with her leggy turn on the second season of Dancing with the Stars, is okay after suffering a minor seizure.

Ozzfest has created a contest for Miss Ozzfest. Ozzfest emcee Big Dave and Ozzfest party dude Eddie will go on a national search for Miss Ozzfest candidates in advance of the Ozzfest tour. Fans can then vote on their favorites at Ozzfest-dot-com.

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis made a special appearance outside Wrigley Field in Chicago after a Cubs game. Davis passed out thousands of dollars in cash (ten dollar bills), CDs, t-shirts and Family Values concert tickets. Korn are putting the value back in Family Values with $9.99 lawn tickets for this summer's Family Values Tour which starts July 27.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have an album at the number one spot on the Soundscan sales charts for the first time ever in their career, with first-week sales of close to half a million in the US alone. The California rockers solidly beat out former Newlywed Nick Lachey, who took the number two spot with his solo album, What's Left Of Me.

Circus folds tent

Long running rock publication Circus has closed its doors. Publisher and Editor in Chief Gerald Rothberg started Circus in 1966 under the title Hullabaloo. In the almost 40 years since, Circus has been many different kinds of music publications. It started out as a general interest rock magazine, running stories on classic rockers such as the Doors and Led Zeppelin. The hair metal years in the '80s were Rothberg's most profitable for Circus.

CKX Inc., the parent company of Elvis Presley Enterprises, has announced a long term partnership with Canadian based circus troupe Cirque du Soleil, which plans to produce a series of shows based around The King's life and music.

MTV has given the greenlight to a new dance-based reality series executive produced by Jennifer Lopez.

NBC's farewell to Will & Grace came up big, helping to give the network a rare nightlong win among adults 18-49.

Mindfire Entertainment will produce a feature film based on the popular Eidos video game Fear Effect. The film will faithfully follow the story line of the original PlayStation game. It will be set 10 years in the future, however, rather than in the alternate world suggested in the game.

Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films have acquired Game Boys. The story revolves around two men who are hardcore video gamers who have mastered a game involving destroying creatures. But when the creatures come to life, they are recruited by the Department of Homeland Security to lead a geeky army of gamers in a battle against the monsters. Jerry Bruckheimer will produce the action-adventure.

Disney Pictures will release The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian during the summer of 2008 rather than its original planned release of December 2007. The reason for the move is because Sony/Columbia Pictures plan on releasing their own big budget fantasy feature from Walden Media (who is producing Narnia as well) during the Christmas season of 2007.

Kirsten Dunst will reunite with Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) in Be Kind Rewind. Jack Black is headlining the feature.

Vin Diesel has signed on to star in the action thriller Black Water Transit. The story follows a man who makes a deal to help the police catch a contract killer in order to get his own son out of jail. The capture however goes fatally wrong with the man forced on the run for apparently killing four cops.

Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor will be joining Woody Allen's next feature, which is being set in London. They have been cast as brothers who turn to crime after hitting financial problems.

Kevin Spacey will play the villain in Joe Claus. Spacey joins Vince Vaughn and Paul Giamatti in Warner Bros.' holiday comedy about Santa Claus' loser brother (Vaughn) who joins his more famous sibling at the North Pole.

The Foo Fighters are showing off their softer side this summer with a series of acoustic shows set for July and August. The band will be augmented by strings, percussion, and the return of Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear.
