The Prestige
From acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan, comes a mysterious story of two
magicians whose intense rivalry leads them on a life-long battle for supremacy.
From the time that they first met as young magicians on the rise, Robert Angier
(Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale)
were competitors. However, their friendly competition evolves into a bitter
rivalry making them fierce enemies for life and consequently jeopardizing the
lives of everyone around them. Full of twists and turns, the exceptional cast
includes two-time Oscar winner Michael Caine, Scarlett
Johansson and David Bowie.

Monster House
Three kids, DJ (Mitchel Musso), Chowder (Sam Lerner),
and Jenny (Spencer Locke) discover that the house across the
street is alive and it eats anything that goes on its property. They try to
convince the babysitter (Maggie Gyllenhaal), the police, and a
weirdo named Skull (Jon Heder). They all try to put their fears
aside as they unravel the mystery of the house. PG rated, great for kids, and
some spooky Halloween fun.

Zappa (younger son of Frank Zappa) is currently developing a big screen
adaptation of Fraggle Rock, the 1980s Jim Henson television show.
Zappa will executive produce the feature along with Lisa Henson, co-CEO of the
Jim Henson Company.
An overview of The Clash's career will open at the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The new exhibit, Revolution Rock: The Story of the
Clash, features items from the personal collections of the band's members such
as Joe Strummer's Fender Telecaster, Mick Jones'
Gibson Les Paul Junior, and Paul Simonon's smashed bass guitar from the
cover of London Calling.
Mort Nathan (Van Wilder 2) and Kal Penn will reunite
for the comedy Under New Management. Penn will play one of two guys who send
their boss on a sex cruise and turn their office into the party hotspot, which
ends up earning the company its highest profits ever.
U2 have set up an internet scavenger hunt, with a grand prize of an
all-expenses paid trip to Hawaii to catch the last stop of the Vertigo tour.
Clues will be posted on U2.com beginning Monday, October 23.

Evanescence
is one of the top five most commonly misspelled Internet searches based on data
recently released by No. 2 search engine Yahoo! Rachael Ray
is misspelled most commonly, followed closely by actress Scarlett
Johansson. Barbra Streisand, Jaime Pressly,
Britney Spears and Eva Mendes also feature prominently
on the list.
My Chemical Romance are among the artists confirmed for
Cingular and Sony Ericcson's Flash Concerts series. The free
shows are promoted two weeks in advance, and fans are told how to get tickets
via text message.
The Killers' Brandon Flowers has criticized Green Day for
what he sees as their calculated anti-Americanism. In particular, Flowers
singled out the track American Idiot and the fact they filmed their DVD Bullet
In A Bible, which features the song, in the UK.
Eddie Murphy will reteam with Norbit director Brian
Robbins for Starship Dave, a comedy which is in pre-production
at 20th Century Fox. The movie tells of miniature human-looking aliens who are
seeking a way to save their doomed planet. Murphy will play their human
spacecraft that they travel in as well as the ship's captain.
The Halo movie will go on, just not with Universal or 20th
Century Fox. The big budget adaptation of the hit Microsoft
video game has hit a snag, with the two studios, Universal and 20th
Century Fox, deciding to recently pull away from financing and distributing the
film.
According to the gossip columns, Nicky Hilton's relationship with
Entourage star Kevin Connolly is over. The pair dated for
over two years, but reportedly split in mid-October after the actor was
unfaithful to the hotel heiress.
Scarlett Johansson may be the latest movie star to make the move
into music. The actress that Esquire magazine calls "the sexiest woman
alive" is rumoured to have an album of Tom Waits covers in the
works.
Courtney Love tells Billboard she's hard at work on a
comeback album. The former Hole front-woman was forced into rehab by a court
order last August after a series of drug-related arrests. Collaborating with
Love is song-writer and producer Linda Perry, the woman behind
hits for Pink and Christina Aguilera.
Al Pacino can add another acting accolade to his collection. The
66-year-old actor will receive the American Film Institute's highest
honor, the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award. |
