Gridiron Gang
The uplifting story of detention camp probation officer Sean Porter (Dwayne
'The Rock' Johnson), who creates a high school level football team from a
ragtag group of dangerous teenage inmates as a means to teach them self respect
and social responsibility. He is joined in this experiment by co-worker, Malcolm
Moore (Xzibit). But Porter must first overcome almost universal resistance from
the powers that be, his skeptical bosses and coaches at rival high schools who
don't want their players mixing it up with convicted criminals on the football
field.

When Santiago Munez is given the chance of a lifetime, he must leave everything
that he knows to travel to England and into a completely foreign world, the
exciting, fast-paced and glamorous world of international soccer. Naturally
gifted, his amazing talent on the soccer field was wasted in recreation league
games while he could only dream of playing on the world stage of professional
soccer. But when a British scout discovers his talent and gets him a tryout with
one of England's premier soccer clubs, Santiago must choose his own destiny. Now
this underdog must prove that he's got the talent and determination to make it
amongst the best in the world.

The
Killers recently shot a new video with movie director Tim Burton.
It turns out that the man behind such flicks as Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and
the Chocolate Factory, and Beetle Juice is a Killers fan and wanted to direct a
clip for the song Bones, which will be the next single off Sam's Town.
The A-Team series creator Stephen J.Cannell revealed that they
were looking at various casting choices for the upcoming movie, including one
interesting one for Col. John "Hannibal" Smith: Bruce Willis.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest will become just the third
movie in history to cross the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office,
joining Titanic and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the
King in the history books.
Despite having said that he believed that he was done with The Mummy
franchise, Brendan Fraser may be returning for another Mummy film.
TMZ.com is reporting that Universal Pictures is bringing Brendan Fraser back for
another turn.

Stefani is now available in plastic. The singer is extending her empire into
kiddie-land with the introduction of eight different Barbie-style dolls
in the likeness of herself or one of her Harajuku Girls, sporting outfits in the
styles she sported on her last world tour.
In light of the recent rumours surrounding Jessica Simpson and
John Mayer, Simpson's publicist has been shown the door. Simpson's
manager father Joe reportedly axed the publicist because he was upset with how
the media claimed the two singers were romantically linked.
Dave Navarro has been spending the summer with Tommy Lee,
Jason Newsted and Gilby Clarke on the set of Rock
Star: Supernova, and now he'll be seeing a lot of them next year as well.
Navarro's new band, The Panic Channel, has been tapped as the opening act
on Supernova's first ever tour, which kicks off New Year's Eve in Las Vegas.
Fans waiting to see the next Spider-Man 3 trailer will have to wait until
Casino Royale, the next James Bond film, which opens in theaters
this November. Additionally, Sony plans on releasing the Ghost Rider
trailer (starring Nicolas Cage) with The Grudge 2 this
fall.
Gibson guitars are set to release a special-edition Billie Joe
Armstrong model guitar later this month. The Green Day frontman's vintage
50s Les Paul serves as the model for the guitar, which will retail for over
twenty-one hundred dollars.
David Letterman is close to inking a contract extension with
CBS that will keep him at New York City's Ed Sullivan Theater as host of
CBS' Late Show through the 2009-10 television season.
Ashlee Simpson was spotted getting very friendly with Fall Out
Boy's Pete Wentz at the trendy MisShapes night in New York. This comes
just as a rep for Simpson confirmed to Us Magazine that the singer has split up
with boyfriend Braxton Olita.
Ellen DeGeneres has been tapped to host the 79th Academy Awards
next year, marking the third year in a row that the Academy of Motion Picture
Arts & Sciences has gone with a celebrity whose contribution to the tube has so
far outweighed his or her impact on celluloid. The ceremony will be held Feb.
25, at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman have committed to
The Bucket List for Warner Bros. Nicholson and Freeman will play
two patients with terminal cancer. They break out of a ward to which they were
confined and make a list of things that they hope to do before dying.
In the latest of a seemingly endless string of battle tracks, 50 Cent
sets his sights on Diddy. In a song called The Bomb that surfaced this
weekend, 50 accuses his new rival of knowing the identity of Biggie Smalls'
murderer.
Rumours are running rampant that David and Victoria Beckham
are expecting their fourth child. According to the gossip columns, a Spanish
reporter asked the soccer star if Posh was preggers, and he answered, "Si."
However, the couple has made no official announcement. |
