Dizzy Up The Girl
- Goo Goo
Dolls
Keeping it simple by churning
out scrappy, efficient three chord pop the Dolls keep to their punk rock roots. Admittedly the Goos are not breaking any creative ground, their push and pull
between poetics and grit is a tamer, more girl friendly version of what
Westerberg and the Replacements achieved in the mid 80's. Sure seems to be a hit
with the fans though, Iris hit number one on the charts and the new single Slide
is racing up behind it.
At The Movies
Urban Legend
Someone is taking an obsession
with urban legends too far which can best be described as Scream + I Know What
You Did Last Summer ÷ Halloween. Not a scene goes by without the camera creeping
right up to a character's shoulders, eee-eee-eees shrieking on the soundtrack,
before it's revealed that it's, well I can't tell you that. Urban Legend is
another nail in the teen-horror coffin for those scare-craving teens.
On TV

obvious differences create some hilarious situations as both learn a little
about life from each other. One of the best shows currently running, watch it
8:00pm Wednesdays on ABC.
