Off The Record...
The Road to El Dorado
Elton John / Rice / Zimmer
The Road to El Dorado contains five John-Rice songs that Sir Elton performs in
the film, plus excerpts of Zimmer's original score. The rest of the disc
consists of one song sung on-screen by Kevin Kline and Kenneth Branagh, but here
voiced by Elton and Randy Newman, four songs inspired by, but not included in
the film, and two songs written just for the album. The highlight of the album
is the John and Newman duet, featuring the two soundtrack titans on It's Tough
to Be a God. Once the marketing is in place for this effort it will strike gold
or maybe even platinum.

Pokemon: The First Movie
The popular Japanese computer game and collectible figures make it to the movies
in this full-length feature. The kids really love Pikachu and the Pokemon
minions, making it a multi-billion dollar industry. This rather dark animated
adventure, re-scripted and re-scored for the North American audience, revolves
around evil Mewtoo as he attempts to become the world's greatest Pokemon
master. The film is backed by kid-pop favs such as Christina Aguilera, Blessid
Union of Souls and Spice Girl Emma Bunton. Not great theater, but the kids will
watch it over and over and over.
