Fender Telecasters
Four new spins on the Fender Telecaster: The ritzy American Deluxe Telecaster
incorporates attractive designer details without sacrificing its aggressive
edge. The Deluxe Nashville Tele blends Stratocaster flavors with traditional
twang, the Tele-Sonic is an intriguing blend of Fender and Gibson/Guild
features, and the U.S. Fat Tele sports a neck-position humbucker for extra
wallop. Each introduces appealing new tones, but these guitars will appeal most
to players who want their Teles to look and sound like traditional Telecasters.
While many "improved" versions have compromised the blunt power of classic
models, these newcomers crackle with thundering immediacy.

Scooby-Doo
The plot to Scooby-Doo begins with the Mystery, Inc. gang having gone their
separate ways after gaining celebrity in their adolescence as sleuths and
hoax-busters. Now in their twenties, the gang grudgingly reunites to solve the
disappearance of Shaggy's cousin Isabel. The story culminates with a very
special effects-heavy sequence on Spooky Island that recalls similar
supernatural showdowns in Blade, Ghostbusters, and even Raiders of the Lost Ark.
To reveal more about the plot would be to head deep into
spoiler country so we won't do that.

The Dead Zone
Filmed during winter in Ontario, The Dead Zone looks as barren and cold as
Johnny Smith (Christopher Walken) must feel after a car accident leaves him
injured, without his fiancé and five years older once he awakens from a long
coma. Literally adding insult to injury, he finds that he now has a
not-entirely-welcome new aptitude. When he touches someone who will soon be
brushed with tragedy, Johnny has shocking visions of what is to come. The Dead
Zone is solid entertainment and an excellent antidote to the brutality and self
referential silliness that have engulfed the horror-thriller genre in the years
since this 1983 production came to the screen. Thus is the reason the DVD
doesn't need 10hrs of added bonuses, just the trailer.
