Essentially a teen version of
The Taming of the Shrew, the story centers around two sisters, one sweet and
hugely popular, the eldest vulgar and crass. Only problem is the father will
not let the younger girl date before her older sibling starts. Bursting with
eccentric supporting characters, its a consistently entertaining comedy that
doesn't condescend to kids and just might encourage them to brush up on their
Shakespeare

Reese Witherspoon and Tobey
Maguire star as a brother and sister who are transported through their
television into a 1950s black and white TV show. Trapped in a society of
innocence, they manage to insert some color into this drab world. The
fish-out-of-water comedy and gentle tweaking of TV's nuclear family conventions
help drive this delightfully original film.
The Buzz...
Hole reportedly will
perform on this summer's Edgefest tour of Canada. Eve 6 are also
being considered for the festival. The official lineup will be announced this
month.
Furby
has inspired its own line of McDonald's Happy Meals. From March 26
through April 22, while supplies last, the fast feeder will include a Furby

A special episode of Suddenly Susan will pay

Star Trek Insurrection
has been scheduled for rental release on video and DVD May 25. Paramount Home
Video has also announced the release of Star Trek: 30 Years and Beyond and
Inside Star Trek: The Real Story on the same day. The two tapes will be
available separately or as a boxed set which will include two tickets to Star
Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas.
One of rap's most controversial
groups, the Insane Clown Posse, will be the focus of an comic book series
from Chaos! Comics. The release date will coincide with the release of the
band's upcoming album, The Amazing Jeckel Brothers, on May 11.
Oscar winning director James Cameron won't write and
produce the Planet of the Apes remake. Instead the director's chair may
go to Michael Bay, director of the planet-smashing Armageddon. Cameron
will turn his attention to the small screen and a sequel to True Lies.
