Alley Cat #1
Matt Hawkins of Lady Pendragon
has teamed up with former Playboy lingerie model and current web goddess Alley
Baggett to craft yet another of those comic books based around a real female
personality. Mixing supernatural visitations with murderous entities, vintage
leather bondage gear and a few cameos by the Marquis himself, Alley Cat is a
somewhat shocking but ultimately entertaining package. It may not be for the
kiddies, but then adults need comic books too.
At The

The Sixth Sense
Bruce Willis plays a child
psychologist tackling a strange case. It seems that an eight-year-old is seeing
an army of ghosts who haunt the gothic streets of modern Philadelphia and seem
to want something from him, but just what, he doesn't know. Given the quality
of work here, perhaps Willis fans can sit through this film despite the lack of
flying bullets and signature smart-alecky comments. Instead they offer up
something you might not be expecting in your average Hollywood action picture or
horror flick, acting.
On Video...
A Civil Action
A gripping
courtroom drama that follows the trials and tribulations of an ambulance chasing
personal injury attorney (John Travolta) who sues two giant corporations on
behalf of eight families who claim they caused the death of their kids by
contaminating the town's water supply. The straightforward case turns nasty when
the lawyer faces off against the corporations' attorneys (headed up by a sleazy
Robert Duvall), bankrupting his small law firm and altering his view of the law
and justice. An absorbing drama with a fine performance by Travolta.
