Indigo Girls
Come On Now Social
By now you've
probably made up your mind about Indigo Girls' folky harmonies, ambitious lyrics
and underachiever arrangements. Time to reconsider. Their seventh studio album
hits a career peak by simplifying the purple poetry into far more effective
emotional reds and blues while bolstering the duo's acoustic strum. The Girls
rock out without abandoning their spiritual roots while bringing out the perfect
pop tune that has eluded the Indigo Girls for a decade. This is the culmination
of everything warm and mighty about the Lilith Fair aesthetic, without the
sunburn.

Sega Dreamcast
Sega aims to regain its former
glory with the launch of Dreamcast, the first 128-bit gaming system on the
market. What that means is more than 5 times the speed of existing systems, but
perhaps most important, Dreamcast includes a built-in modem that allows players
to browse the Web, download software, and join online games, as well as use
e-mail. Sega took in more than 300,000 pre-orders, not bad in an industry that
takes in over $7 billion annually. The graphics are stunning and play is quick
and flawless, more than enough to thoroughly impress the most avid of players.

The Matrix
A bizarre and
totally absorbing virtual reality thriller about humans being manipulated by a
future machine-intelligence to believe they are living in the late-20th century,
when they are in fact bred in vats as batteries to fuel the energy of the
Matrix, the computer net that strings the world together. The plot revolves
around a group of revolutionaries who choose computer geek Neo (Keanu Reeves) as
the one to overthrow the machines and break down the veil of the Matrix's
virtual reality. Astounding special effects and believable story line make this
one of the most original sci-fi films in years.
