Flipp
Flipp who? Do yourself a favor
and get acquainted with this Minneapolis based band that defines the fun and
excitement that is missing in todays music scene. Formed in 1995 by singer,
songwriter, frontman, schitzo boy Brynn Arens, the band landed a major label
contract with Hollywood records. Their music captures and revives the ever
fading 70's pop rock, keeping it fresh and alive. To date the Flipp discography
consists of their full-length debut album Flipp, as well as their

Are you planning
on skipping work to see it? How about buying the merchandise? Talking action
figures, software and video games, books and interactive banks, Toys R Us said
the company has shipped out 700 trailer trucks full of merchandise to their
stores. George Lucas has even suggested that there may be such a thing as too
much hype. Critics will trash the movie since the Star Wars movies have always
gotten generally bad reviews, so if you overlook all the hype and remember that
it is a Saturday-afternoon serial for children you won't be disappointed.

Pixar Animation (Toy Story, A
Bugs Life) has started work on its next computer animated project for Disney, Monsters, Inc. The comedy is about a hapless monster who lets a human
child into monster-land by mistake .
Antonio Banderas will be
paid $12 million to star in The Body based on a novel by Richard Sapir about a
Catholic Priest sent by the Vatican on a special mission to the Holy Land after
archaeologists uncover what might be the bones of Jesus Christ.
Scream 3
will be the last of the teen horror movie franchise. Cinescape reports that the
production company is aware of declining revenue of recent chillers and wants to
go out on a high note.
The much-anticipated Freddy
vs. Jason horror film grudge match was being placed on hold, New Line Cinema
execs told Cinescape Online the movie is still a go.
Bad Company have tapped the
David Lee Roth Band to open their tour. The outing begins May 15 in Tampa,
Fla., and continues through Aug. 8 in Los Angeles.
Beware independent
comic shops. Comic Library International says it will launch a new comic
book format suited for mainstream bookstores, comic shops, book clubs and
virtual malls this fall. Their goal is to give the comics reader the best bang
for their buck which is not the case with current direct market prices.
Director John Landis is
ironing out the details to produce a horror anthology film for New Line Cinema.
The project is tentatively entitled Really Scary and will include four segments
by four filmmakers.
The Mummy's surprise
showing at the box office ($44 million its first weekend) virtually assures the
film a sequel. Producer Sean Daniel told Variety that sequel concepts are
getting good and fast.
Sony Music Entertainment
has teamed with Microsoft to begin selling music in digital format via
the Internet this summer. Expect to shell out your greenbacks for high-quality
digital tracks by Sony artists such as Korn, the Offspring, Silverchair,
and the Black Crowes.
Everclear has just been announced as the latest addition to the Detroit
Rock City soundtrack. They will be performing Thin Lizzy's The Boys Are Back
In Town. Other artists on the soundtrack include Marilyn Manson, Cheap Trick
and, of course, KISS.
DC Comics
and Warner Bros. were awarded $3.6 Million in a judgement against CBB
Group Inc. of Los Angeles. CBB was operating a 70,000 square foot warehouse in
Los Angeles engaged in a counterfeit operation. |
