A Simple Plan
A trio of Midwest
small towners comes across a crashed private plane with a dead pilot and $4.4
million on board. Figuring it's lost drug money, they decide to keep it, hoping
that no one will come after it. But the money eats at them, and the threesome
get involved in a modern scenario of mistrust and murder, sending their simple
plan awry. Strong performances from Bill Paxton and Billy Bob
Thornton.

Comic book fans who
appreciate the horrific pencils of Bernie Wrightson can soon visit his

canceled Canadian and European tours to allow singer-bassist Max Collins

Walt Disney World’s
new indoor roller coaster ride is called The Rock 'N' Roller Coaster, and
the plot revolves around Aerosmith trying to cross the gridlocked streets
of Los Angeles to make it to a concert on time. The cars for the
rocking ride are designed to look like 1950s-era Cadillacs and are able to zoom
from 0 to 60 m.p.h. in 2.8 seconds.
The family of Owen Hart, a
wrestler killed doing a stunt last month, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit
against the World Wrestling Federation.
Tom Hanks Monday was named
the most bankable star in
Hollywood,
ousting Tom Cruise from the top spot in a poll that asked studio
executives to name the actors who can bring in the money.
Florence Henderson (The
Brady Bunch) will be a co-host of Later Today, a NBC News show that's set to
premiere this fall. She'll be paired with Jodi Applegate of NBC News and

Michael Jackson bought the
1939 Academy Award given to Gone With The Wind for best motion picture.
Jackson purchased the $1.5 million Oscar at Sotheby over the phone. The award
was originally estimated at $300,000 before the auction.
Howard Stern
and former Sliders exec Tracy Torme are working on a new sci fi animated
comedy, Doomsday, about a family searching for a new home and traditional values
amid post-apocalyptic ruins. Stern will voice a special character on the show,
which will be marketed for prime time.

immortalized as Dr. Leonard Bones McCoy on Star Trek has died at age 79.
David Boreanaz,
who plays Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will make his feature film debut in
First Light, described as a mystic golf fable by Irish writer Ingrid Quinn.
FX acquired the rebroadcast rights to Chris
Carter's Millennium which will begin airing July 19 at 1 a.m. ET, right
after the network's midnight The X-Files.
