Caught In The
Act...
Ozzfest ’99
Rocks biggest and loudest
perennial show, Ozzfest ‘99 is a spectacle of pure fist pumping power. While
Ozzy and the rest of Black Sabbath put on a memorable show with classics abound,
it was the new breed that drove the masses. Energetic sets from System of A
Down, Deftones and Slayer whipped the crowd into a frenzy, but it was the
monster laden grooves of Rob Zombie that iced the cake, as he commanded the
crowd like a freaked out Messiah in a post apocalyptic world. Heavy metal never
tasted so good.
At The
Movies...
American Pie
A return to the ever-popular
teen sex comedy, American Pie leans more towards the crudeness of Porky’s than
the slickly produced style of the ever popular Risky Business. Not that teen
audiences will notice the difference, or care for that matter. This market
segment has been booming as of late, and this trend shows no signs of stopping.
The laughs come at a fast and furious pace. This isn’t Shakespeare, but it is
mindless self-indulgent fun.
Toy Box...
Star Trek Figures
Of all the bizarre worlds Star
Trek has shown us, few were as entertaining as the alternate reality of the
Mirror, Mirror episode. Playmates Toys has been issuing an exclusive line of 9"
action figures based on this show, which has so far included Captain Kirk, Mr.
Spock, Dr. McCoy and Lt. Uhura in mirror universe garb. Now the line concludes
with two of the coolest figures yet, Security Chief Sulu and Lt. Marlena Moreau,
the episode’s Captain’s woman.

the interest of keeping them from webmasters who would use the famous monikers
for dubious reasons. |
